Big Daddy’s BBQ started in 2006 after our first Full-Service Catering. Hoss had been a backyard BBQ Enthusiast until then – smoking everything from Ribs to Chicken to Prime Rib. It was after multiple other requests for food that Big Daddy’s BBQ became a name in the game. Starting with a food truck and slowly moving up to the first Storefront, where Hoss smoked the meats and Khaseta, his wife, created all the sides. After tons of bbq competitions and multiple wins, including 2nd place in Ribs, 2nd in Brisket and 8th overall in a field of 30 teams – our recipes were secure. These wins have led us to spread our joy of good food and quality service to expand into two full-service dining experiences, worry-free catering and finding ways every day to secure our spot as Idaho's Best BBQ. 

This business is founded on family – whether serving it or having family run it. It isn’t unusual for you to see Kersten, Hoss and Khasetas daughter, running back and forth between the locations to make sure the quality of food and service is top notch. With Hoss's passing in 2020 and Khaseta retiring in 2022, it would have been expected for the brand to close down but Kersten has kept the legacy alive and promises to keep providing the same great service and food that the community has come to love. We may be small, but our Idaho Style BBQ and tenacity have helped this business blossom to win Best of Meridian, Best of Boise and Best of the Treasure Valley 4 years running. The real award though, is making people happy one brisket at a time.
